Promises vs Results Scorecard: How to Avoid ‘Audio Projects’ in Your Ratings

Scorecard illustration comparing promises and results

Audio projects are everywhere. You hear them, but you never see them.

One press conference and everybody is shouting “new roadmap!” Next thing: nothing changes, only banner remains.

The scorecard (simple but wicked)

  • Promise: what exactly did they say?
  • Timeline: when did they say it will happen?
  • Evidence: photos, documents, public reports, site visit.
  • Beneficiaries: who actually felt the impact?
  • Maintenance: is it still working after commissioning?

Now the suspense: once you start using this, you’ll notice some leaders are good at launching, but bad at sustaining.

Rate based on what survived after the camera left.
